THEMATICAL TOURS
Solidarność - a community experience?
What was Solidarność, the trade union that captured the world’s attention in the 1980s and peacefully shattered the totalitarian illusion of communism? This tour traces the experience of Polish society as it searched for its civic space and a return to a community based on a consensus of values that enabled it to regain national and political freedoms.
Swiss Solidarity with Solidarność
The rise of Solidarność which aroused the enthusiasm of international public opinion, also had repercussions in Switzerland. Local authorities, trade unions, Christian communities and the Polish colony of former emigrants are all committed to this non-violent movement. The tour is structured around individual journeys and collective experiences, evoking the initiatives and actions put in place to help and support the union and Polish society.
